Why I'm a coach:
I chose it because I needed coaching when I was younger and never had it. As a result of life's experiences and hardships over the years, I felt God calling me into counseling and coaching later in life. Here I am, by God's good graces. I couldn't do this without Him, nor would I try to.
What I love most about coaching:
It is a privledge and honor to partner with God, the Wonderful Counselor, to come alongside someone who is seeking help. Together with my client, and by God's direction and grace, we look at what is going on, explore ways forward, and move toward a healthier life, mentally, emotionally, physically, relationally, and spiritually. When this is happening, the client is growing, God is glorified, and I am honoring the calling Jesus has prepared me for. This gives my life great meaning this side of His kingdom to come.
I recharge on my day off by:
I spend time with my wife, walking, talking, exploring new as well as old familiar places, having a relaxed meal, reading, watching a true-story movie with a redemptive theme and godly values. I love being out in nature of all kinds, particularly near mountains and at the beach. And I love dogs. I enjoy a good jog or a game of tennis or racquetball. No day is complete without my private morning commune with the Love of my life - Jesus.
My three favorite things:
Morning devotions with God.
Time at the beach with my wife.
Laughing with my son.
